What is a Postpartum Doula?

A postpartum doula is an extra set of hands in the home as the family adjusts to having a new baby. She assists with emotional support, lactation education, light chores, and teaches newborn care. Her goal is to assist in the transition period and inspire parents and family members to move forward feeling confident and empowered.

What to Expect:

• Ongoing support, communication and consultation during the weeks following childbirth 

• Referrals and support during the entire fourth trimester

• 24 hour on call availability during the four weeks surrounding your baby's estimated birth date

• Physical and emotional support during the postpartum healing period

• A grounding, nurturing presence and an extra set of hands

• Help with simple chores and errands (dishes, baby laundry, light meal prep, organizing baby items)

• Assistance and education of newborn care (bathing, diapering, baby wearing, carseat education)

• Someone to talk to who understands, cares, does not pass judgement, and can answer questions

• Breastfeeding and/or bottle feeding support 

• Evidence based information and services

Prices and Packaging

All Doula services can be provided for an hourly rate starting as low as $40 per hour. Please visit the Contact page to discuss the specific care you are interested in and we can create a package specifically for your needs.

The Inspired Beginnings Package is $750 a week (20 hours).

This package includes a minimum of everything listed above and is available anytime within the first eight weeks after you deliver.

The Empowered Parenting Package is $3,000.

This package includes the entire Intentional Birth Package and 40 hours of the Inspired Beginnings Package (to be used within eight weeks after the birth of your child).

Payments can be split with $1,500 due by 36 weeks and the additional $1,500 due on the agreed upon date listed in the contract.
