What is a Doula?

A doula is a trained and experienced labor companion who provides the birthing person emotional support and physical comfort. She assists in gathering information before, during, and just after childbirth. She does not replace the birth partner or spouse, but rather empowers and assists as needed. She is not a medical provider, but is experienced in childbirth and stays up to date with evidence-based practices.​

​What to Expect:

• Ongoing support, communication, and consultation during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and for the weeks following childbirth

• Two prenatal visits to answer questions, discuss birth plans, and role-play labor positions and comfort measures

• 24 hour on call availability during the four weeks surrounding your baby's estimated birth date

• Reliable back up doula services

• Physical and emotional support during active labor and childbirth to promote relaxation, relieve tension, and manage pain sensations

• A grounding, nurturing presence and an extra set of hands

• An hour or two of immediate postpartum support to increase bonding, assist with breastfeeding, and help the new family settle in

• One postpartum visit to discuss labor, check in, answer questions and make referrals if need be ​

 

Prices and Packaging

All Doula services can be provided for an hourly rate starting as low as $40 per hour. Please visit the Contact page to discuss the specific care you are interested in and we can create a package specifically for your needs. 

 

The Intentional Birth Package is $1,500.

This package includes a minimum of everything listed above.

Fees can be split into payments and are to be paid in full by 36 weeks.

The Empowered Parenting Package is $3,000.

This package includes the entire Intentional Birth Package and 40 hours of the Inspired Beginnings Package (to be used within eight weeks after the birth of your child).

 

*Bundling saves you $200!*

Payments can be split with $1,500 due by 36 weeks and the additional $1,500 due on the agreed upon date listed in the contract.
